What it is

Roughly how many hours a month the product still needs from you.

Why it matters

A product is meant to break the link between hours and income. Often it does not — packing, replying, chasing suppliers. Counting the hours tells you whether you own a product or a job that sells objects.

The method

Estimate the monthly hours honestly. If it is close to a full working week, the line is not yet doing what a product is supposed to do.

Example

Adeel spends about 60 hours a month on his. On PKR 69,000 that is PKR 1,150 an hour — good, and worth knowing rather than assuming.
