Counting who could find you
- What it is
- The number of people who could come across your work on each platform, written down with today's date beside it.
- Why it matters
- A buyer cannot pay somebody they cannot find. Today's figure barely matters. It matters enormously in three months, when you write the second row underneath it. This is a starting mark, not a scoreboard.
- The method
- Write each platform separately, then add them. Do not round up. A group you own is worth more per head than followers. A mailing list, or a chat group you run. On those the message actually arrives.
- Example
- Danish had about four thousand followers and almost nobody saw his work. Everything he posted was somebody else's. Being findable and being seen are two different problems.
Now you
Each platform, its real number, dated today.
