Days booked, and how long a day runs

What it is

How many days you worked across twelve months. And how long one of those days really runs.

Why it matters

A day rate hides the hours inside it. The same money over an eight-hour day and over a thirteen-hour day are two different rates. Event and production days are rarely eight hours.

The method

Count the days you were actually booked in the last twelve months. Then the honest length of one day, door to door. Multiply the two. That is the year's hours.

Example

Danish worked 200 days at about 11 hours each. 200 times 11 is 2,200 hours. PKR 2,400,000 across 2,200 hours is PKR 1,091 an hour. His day rate had told him a much better story.
